Swansea University appoints External Examiners for all programmes. Selected for their subject expertise and experience, they typically remain in post for four years. They normally attend Award and Progression Boards, review assessment, including examination scripts, course assignments, projects or dissertations and produce a report on quality and standards each year.
They provide impartial and independent confirmation that the procedures in place at Swansea University have been followed and that the assessment and classification processes are fair and in line with national standards for awards.
