Student Feedback Team

Student Feedback Team is responsible for collection and analysis of student feedback data for quality improvement purposes, particularly staff engagement with student feedback opportunities.


Sophie Leslie, Student Partnership & Feedback Development Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • The administration and analysis of the Big Swansea Surveys, Module Feedback and Unitu.
  • Other student feedback opportunities, including administration of additional surveys. 
  • Cross-referencing and dissemination of student feedback data for enhancement purposes

About Me: Sophie is a Student Partnership and Feedback Development Officer and is a Senior Fellow of the HEA. Her work examines student experience and quality enhancement within the university, student engagement and student partnership. Previous research has focused on students as partners, online learning communities and peer learning, and the development of staff attributes and their importance within the student experience. Sophie oversees all central student feedback channels including but not limited to the Big Swansea Surveys, Module Feedback and Unitu. 


 

Hayley Coffey, Student Feedback Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of module feedback for Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences.
  • Staff and student engagement in module feedback.
  • Maintenance and enhancement of survey and related software.

About Me: Having previously worked in Solicitors offices for many years, more recently as a Legal Personal Assistant, Hayley joined Swansea University in 2009. Hayley has worked supporting the administration of student cases in assessment, appeals, complaints, and disciplinary matters. 

More recent roles have been supporting Student Partnership and Engagement Services, and now Hayley works as a Student Feedback Officer in the Academic Quality Services team in the administration and support of module feedback for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. 


Sophie Thomas, Student Feedback and Engagement Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of module feedback for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and The College.
  • Building and reviewing the module feedback surveys, promoting student and staff engagement through survey software such as EvaSys+
  • Analysing qualitative data from all student feedback surveys.

About Me: Sophie transitioned to the Officer position in the Academic Quality Services team in 2022, and was previously a Student Feedback Assistant for the Student Partnership and Engagement Team, where she first joined in 2018. Prior to this, Sophie obtained both a degree and Masters degree in Translation from Swansea University.


Jac Davies, Student Feedback Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with any incoming email queries
  • Analysing historical student data through the EvaSys and EvaSys+ systems
  • Building module feedback surveys.

About Me: Before joining the University Jac obtained a degree in Music and has previously worked for J.D. Wetherspoon and Admiral before taking part in the PGCE program during 2020-2021. His main responsibilities involve the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences, ensuring all the Faculty’s surveys are built and opened in the correct time frame and amending any issues that members of the Faculty may have.


Sian Davies, Student Feedback Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and building module feedback surveys (Predominantly for the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.)
  • Analysis student data through EvaSys and EvaSys+ systems.
  • Analysing student data from University wide surveys such as NSS and YES.

About Me: Sian Davies joined Swansea University Academic Quality Service team in 2022 after graduating from the University with a First Class in Business Management BSc. During her time as a student Sian was The President of the Swansea University Business Society, also working as a Service Coordinator in the facilities management team at Engie and as a Customer Relationship Coordinator/Marketing Assistant at Nviro Insurance.
